Future Science (Future Science) is a non-commercial digital platform dedicated to innovations in academic publishing

The platform serves as a hub for various initiatives such as Open Review Journals or Archives. Future Science also organizes the Biannual Conference on Innovation in Academic Publishing in Aix-en-Provence.

Publisher

The Future Science website is published by a non-profit academic consortium. It is part of the research program developed by the Chair of Transitions at UM6P (Mohammed VI Polytechnic University), in partnership with:

  • Aix-Marseille University (France)
  • University of Chicago (USA)
  • Columbia University – Center for Comparative Critical Thought (USA)

Hosting

The website is currently in alpha. It is temporarily hosted on Replit. A long-term solution is currently being discussed.

Data Collection and Privacy

Data Collected

Future Science collects only the minimal personal information required to operate the platform:

  • User’s name or pseudonym
  • Email address
  • Institution

No other personal, behavioral, or usage data is collected or stored.

Purpose

These data are used solely to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Authenticate users when contributing (e.g., uploading texts or comments)
  • Occasionally communicate important updates related to the platform or onboarding information

Data Retention

All data is securely stored and will never be sold, shared with third parties, or used for commercial purposes.

Your Rights

In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent international standards, users have the right to:

  • Access their data
  • Request rectification or deletion
  • Object to the processing of their personal data

Future Science does not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. Only essential cookies may be used for technical operations (such as session management or language preferences).

Intellectual Property

Unless stated otherwise, the content available on Future Science (including digitized classical texts, annotations, and visualizations) is provided under open licenses (Creative Commons), according to the rights applicable to each text.

User contributions are also considered open access, unless a specific license is indicated by the contributor.

Future Science strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information. However, the consortium cannot be held liable for any errors, omissions, or the use made of the content by users.

Code of Conduct

All users of Future Science are expected to adhere to our code of conduct. Failure to do so might result in temporary or permanent ban from the platform.
